Yes, you can surf in Kansas!! In Manhattan, the City built a 70,000+ sq ft outdoor recreational facility with a competition pool, dive stands, and a play area that includes the first Stingray Surf Pool in the United States.

Using Capri’s popular design-build process, the City of Manhattan developed over 23,323 sq ft of water surface. For competitive swimmers there is a 50-meter x 25-yard competition pool with 1 & 3-meter dive stands for racing excellence. For the rest of the community, there is a drop slide, a leisure pool with a lazy river, a vortex, an interactive play structure, a floating apple pad walk and one of only 3 Wet Bubble 360 degree slides in the United States.

The facility also includes a tot pool with play features and a tot slide. An elevated plunge pool entertains more advanced swimmers with a large open flume slide and an enclosed speed slide. A state of the art bathhouse and concessions area serves everyone.

Capri began demolition of the old facility in October 2009 and completed this project in July 2010. A design/build spray ground was also built for the City prior to the Aquatic Center.
